THE MURCHISON FALLS (KABALEGA FALLS)
The stunning Murchison falls, formerly known as Kabalega falls is perched in northwestern part of Uganda right at the centre of the scenic Murchison falls national park; this magnificent waterfall is Uganda’s unique piece, greatest waterfall on the Nile River. Murchison falls is arguably the most powerful waterfall in the world with its therapeutic beautiful sound of waters roaring, and crashing on the rocks below the vulnerable, cold ice mist that captures every one’s attention.
The beauty of this amazing waterfall is the snow white and superb dark cliff walled river that gives a visit along lasting experience with a chance to relax due to its graceful appearance. It was baptized in the memory of His Excellency the president of the Royal Geographical Society during his tour to the pearl Of Africa. The best way to view this water fall is by taking on a boat cruise from Paraa jetty that brings you across an amalgam of Nile hippos, crocodiles and other amazing creatures like herds of elephants, buffaloes, beautiful birds and the lush green vegetation surrounding this wonderful place.
A simple hike right after the boat cruise rewards visitors with endless views of a permanent rainbow formed beneath the rocks as a result of the powerful pressure the water exerts on the rocks to force its way out.
Naturally Murchison falls is a unique part of waterfall that truly exists and it always captures the attention anyone wouldn’t want to miss during an adventure trip in Uganda.
SIPI FALLS
Sipi falls is located 270 kilometers in the north east of Kampala and is truly a pearl to marvel at which fascinates too many guests who come to tour the pearl of Africa. It’s a series of 3 great waterfalls, found in Kapchorwa on a boarder with Mbale and Sironko. These falls are magical in nature and they create a permanent drainage system in the Sipi region.
The hiking within the falls offers stunning views of Karamoja flat plains, the water falls gently rolls down the cliffs standing at a height of about 70metres off the great slopes of mountain Elgon with thunderous sounds of water washing the environment around it.
Following the lower and the outer most part of the fall you discover the cooler climate and the very fine and the beautiful stones with brown and green color that form colors of the rain bow, this offers visitors wonderful sight and a very great experience.
BUJAGALI FALLS
Bujagali falls is home to a local spirit called Bujabald which is embodied in an old local spiritualist’s body who is believed to be the ninth person possessed by the spirit. He is often seen practicing rituals on the edge of the falls.
Bujagali is an adventure capital of Uganda, believed to be home and starting point for many major adventurous activities, including bungee jumping, White water rafting, Kayaking, river surfing, etc.
Bujagali once presented iconic waterfalls that offered nothing but adventure were later submerged into a power dam by the government in 2011 which affected tourism at this place; however it was a way of generating more Hydro Electricity Power in the country.
KARUMA FALLS
It’s one of the outstanding and stunning water fall along Victoria Nile near Murchison fall national park, this seen along Kampala –Gulu highway, karuma falls has a series of nice locking rocks at the base seat of Victoria with a loud roaring sound from the water fall creating spectacular ripples of beautiful water appearing whitish in the eyes of the visitor. The scaring bridge enables a visitor to view beauty of nature and perfect spot for wildlife, baboons, antelopes, nature walks and the overhanging cliffs.
ARUU FALLS
The beautiful falls of Aruu located in Pader district is a perfect definition of untouched beauty. Located in Northern Uganda, the Aruu falls are truly breathtaking waterfalls with her waters flowing over the slippery outward looking rocks arranged in finger-like structure. These beautiful and fantastic living waterfalls offer room for tourists who would like en route relaxation and refreshment while travelling to the North – eastern based Kidepo national park.
Aruu waterfalls are located in the interior of Pader District about 4 and a half kilometers along the Pader – Kitgum highway, towards Kidepo Valley National park.
The waterfalls are home to numerous activities including bird watching, nature walks, swimming, rock climbing, and picnic lunches.
SEZIBWA FALLS
When taking about the unique waterfalls in Uganda Sezibwa has to be added on the list due to its magnificence and the gorgeous oasis for lover’s nature and people who like staying in the environment that is friendly.
The prepossessing and sacred Ssezibwa falls are just 45 minutes’ drive away from Kampala-Uganda’s capital, after Mukono town along Jinja road. Its brownish smoky water gushes in the rocks and a series of 7 falls it has produces a hissing sound that expand the experience of a visitor with the long list of the number of activities such as bird watching, camping and rock climbing.
