Queen Elizabeth National Park:
It is not only one of the most remarkable places in western Uganda but also in the entire country. The Park is most famous for its unique tree-climbing lions and the striking Kazinga Channel that attracts so many of the Park’s wildlife species. In this beautiful Park, you will engage in so many interesting safari activities such as game driving and game viewing, birding, boat cruises along the Kazinga Channel, nature walks, cultural encounters, lion tracking, tree-climbing lions search, chimpanzee tracking in the Kyambura Gorge, and so many others.
The Park has so many wildlife species like African Lions, Cape Buffaloes, Nile Crocodiles, Hippos, African Leopards, African Savannah Elephants, Bushbucks, Warthogs, Waterbucks, and so many bird species.
Most notable for residing the highest number of chimpanzees (1,500) in Africa, Kibale is unsurprisingly one of the most remarkable destinations in western Uganda. The Park resides 13 primate species – the highest for any African National Park. Chimpanzee tracking is the major tourist activity in the Park but children below 15 years of age won’t be allowed to track these beautiful apes.
There are so many things you will come across in Kibale, on your chimpanzee tracking or habituation safari, among them include olive baboons, birds, and so many monkey species. Rwenzori Mountains National Park:
The snow-capped Rwenzori Mountains in Rwenzori Mountains National Park is one of the most attractive landmarks in western Uganda and across the entire country. The most stunning activity here is of course hiking atop these beautiful snow-capped mountains which offers you a great opportunity of getting spectacular views over the beautiful surrounding – including DR Congo’s Virunga National Park, of which on any lucky day you will be able to see mountain gorillas performing their daily activities and behaviors.

Lake Mburo National Park:
Also located in western Uganda, Lake Mburo National Park is a small (smallest savannah Park in Uganda) Park loaded with so many attractions ranging from wildlife, birdlife, water bodies, and so many others. The Park is most notable for residing with the highest population of zebras as well as inhabiting so many antelope species. Besides Zebras, the Park houses so many other wildlife species like giraffes, warthogs, common elands, hippos, Nile Crocodiles, Cape Buffaloes, Savannah Elephants, bushbucks, waterbucks, topis, and an elusive leopard, among so many colorful bird species. Lake Mburo National Park can be your first destination or last, as it’s the closest national park to Uganda’s capital – Kampala.
