Tracking Mountain Gorillas:
You can visit mountain gorillas as many times and possible. They are found in their natural habitats and protected for conservation purposes. It is possible to do Double gorilla tracking from these two protected areas where they can be found. Bwindi and Mgahinga National parks. Tracking twice is common. It can be same region and track different families or one tracking can be done in Bwindi and another one in Mgahinga National Park.
Some clients opt to do Gorilla habituation where a client is allowed to stay with Mountain gorillas for 4 hours. Gorilla habituation is done on a family under research and this is an amazing activity to be on the team studying the behaviors of the family and also making them familiar to Human beings.
Chimpanzee Tracking: Mountain gorillas and chimpanzees resemble somehow, but there are other broad differences you can notice when you do both activities. Double the experience by tracking both the big primates in Uganda. They can be tracked in Kibale National Park which has the highest habituated chimpanzees in Uganda, Budongo Forest as you head to Murchison falls national park, Kalinzu forest not forgetting the orphanaged chimpanzees in Ngamba Island.
Ngamba Island can be accessed by water and different boats are available at water front in Entebbe. Once you book a safari including Ngamba, all will be included in the package. Ngamba Island is small and since the chimps are mostly herbivores, the food in the forest is not enough for their number, therefore there are feeding sessions to supplement on the food they get from the forest. They are given fruits, bananas and etc. Visitors get a chance to see them on the feeding sessions, a visitor can also throw a fruit for chimp to eat. The experience is emotional as you watch them asking for what to eat, showing different sighs. They are very intelligent animals.
Tree climbing lions in Ishasha sector. This is rare to find but Uganda is blessed to have these wild animals climb trees. They are found in Ishaha sector in Queen Elizabeth National Park. Though other National parks has Lions like Murchison falls, they do not climb trees. Tree climbing lions can not only be found in Queen Elizabeth National Park Ishasha sector. Some of the reasons why they climb trees may be as follows, Relaxing, running away from insect bites, having good view of food and may be running away from heat.
Rafting in Jinja. This is a relaxing activity, most visitor do Rafting on the Nile in Jinja after a long safari. Rafting itself is fun, and among adventure activities. There are different companies handling rafting in Jinja, but once you book your trip with gorilla walking safaris, all will be packaged and pay all-inclusive price.
There is an option of rafting full day and half day. There is different grading, Grade 5 full day rafting, grade 3 half day rafting and etc. You can add on the experience by doing a boat cruise around and horse riding.
